The Client Billing Specialist is responsible for working in tandem with the Billing staff to ensure maximization of cash flow, including full utilization of EHR to efficiently support programs offered by STMHC, and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed.  In addition, the Client Billing Specialist must possess the ability to work independently. 

  • Process billing and claims in a timely manner
    • Reviews completed appointments to ensure accurate CPT codes/modifiers
    • Submits claims to third party payers & secondary payers
    • Submits invoices to vendor contracts
    • Reviews all insurance denials & processes appeals
    • Processing and reviewing Client Statements
  • Communicates with Clients in the following areas
    • Answers insurance & billing questions that arise
    • Collection of outstanding bills
    • Negotiates payment plans for delinquent accounts
    • Recommends collection and/or write offs to the CART Committee
  • Reporting Functions
    • Reviews and analyzes month end reporting to ensure accurate billing
    • Provides necessary reports to Leadership team as requested
    • Responsible for external billing reports including grant-based reporting
  • Month End Close
    • Processing all necessary reports for month end close
    • Closing of the accounting periods
